I am a "Forgotten American". You know, one of the people you said that you cared about and wanted to represent. You keep talking about things you have no real control over. When and if congress ever sends you something to sign and you do that, it is time to celebrate.

Dear President Trump and NFL Players,

I am sure you just handed them enough rope for hanging. There is an immense difference between cannot and should not. We live in a country where people are free to make good and poor decisions and reap the rewards of both. Consequences are the best teacher.

You actually said

“It’s not a distraction at all because I’m doing a lot. We’ve passed over 50 pieces of legislation, we have a Supreme Court Judge, a much stronger military, much stronger borders now, we’re going to get the wall,” Trump told Hegseth. “The NFL cannot disrespect our country, they cannot disrespect our flag, or our national anthem.”

They can. They are and you cannot stop them. They have the right. Do I support them in showing this disrespect as a form of protest, no. It should be pointed out that those soldiers who come home in a box draped with that very flag died for their right to do it. I imagine most of those soldiers never dreamed it would be used in this way.

It doesn't make my husband, who is a veteran sad, it makes him angry and I get to deal with PTSD all revved up again. Thanks, so much NFL players for helping to return the anger that we have worked so hard to recover from. The dreams are back and he is at war again. So now, to me it more than an assault on the flag, I am in danger again. Maybe you didn't think of all the consequences your disrespect of the flag could bring back. When you are on that knee pray for him and me, because I am not safe when he believes he is in war zone protecting me.

Stop Whining and Deliever the Facts

To Whom it May Concern and President Trump,

I was busy doing research today and got a little frustrated. I am not a fan of headlines and it occurs to me that most politicians speak in headlines. Vague and misleading seems to be the name of the game.

For example, I was trying to find a specific number of people who had died. Every headline stated, Over (and then some number). They know the actual number. That is the number that should be used.

It's like the term "FAKE NEWS" every time I see that I mentally change the wording because I believe this is what it really means. In a very whining voice "Someone is picking on me" replaces fake news. Why, because you over use the term and attach it to EVERYTHING.  Please stop your whining. It is really irritating me and doesn't allow me to focus on important facts.

I am hopeful that some mathematical guru will read this and let me know how many times you have tweeted "fake news" Anyone? Help out please. How about anyone from #NMP. One of you must be counting.

Please let me know an actual number - Anyone!

Trump Targets North Korea With New Executive Order

Hello,

The critics are alive and well this morning. So before the questions start rolling in; Yes, I read the entire executive order. No, I am not a lawyer. No, I am not a "fan" of any particular political person. Yes I am a legal citizen.

I firmly believe that North Korea will at some point send a missile that will kill Americans. I firmly believe that it probably is in the near future. I believe that doing nothing, but fight on twitter is all the American people can see. I hope there is much more behind the scenes to try and keep people safe.

The Executive Oder seems to hit them in the pocket book and that might be helpful. Although my husband continually reminds me that the black market is alive and well and North Korea can get anything they desire that way.

I am not sure what the answer is, and I am glad we are doing something.

Get off your knee and tell me what your issue is.

Your actions speak so loud ........I can't hear what you are saying.

Dear President Trump, NFL Player and Owners,

I am trying very hard to settle down, put things in order, and calm down. It is not as easy as one might think. I have a deep respect for the flag and the National Anthem and all that it stands for. As I watched team after team take a knee or not come out at all, I got angry. That flag wraps the coffin of fallen soldiers. I don't know what they are protesting or why they care what a bully (President Trump) says about it, they lost my respect when they showed disrespect to the flag and the National Anthem. To me those two things are sacred.

You athletes don't live in a perfect country. Many of you have been through rough times. I imagine many of you have faced racism and still you are able to make millions "PLAYING A GAME".  So find another symbol for your cause. Find something I can support.

If you want to teach me about racism and how I can help fight that, you will have to find a different peaceful protest than disrespecting the flag and the National Anthem.

I have new hero though Alejandro Villanueva went out by himself, and stood up for the anthem and the flag. I would assume he's had some bumps in his life as well.

So get t-shirts. Make commercials. Have a telethon Buy billboards, but don't show disrespect our sacred symbols - please.

For Every Solider Who Died Fighting for Us

Dear Mr. President,

I wish you would read all of my posts and my letters to you that I write every day, because you indicated that you were there to represent me, a forgotten American. This morning I want you to read for a different reason. A 10 year old boy understands and so should everyone else.

This morning I was watching the drama over sports players disrespecting the flag. Today some went so far as to disrespect the American Flag and honor a flag of another country. I think those men should stay there. We don't need them here.

A few weeks ago my 10 year old grandson went with Grandpa and me to a rodeo. The presentation of the flag and the National Anthem is especially touching as it comes flying out on beautiful horse at a full run.

The crowd settled and the music started. I was my grandson, standing proudly with his hand over his heart and tears running down his face. I put my other arm around him and paid respect to the flag.

Everyone clapped and then as is the tradition at this rodeo, the saddled horse with no rider took a slow tour around the arena honoring all that had been lost.

It was time for the rodeo to be begin and I was drying his tears. He said,
"That song talks about the people who died so I could live here free. That flag was there after the fighting. Grandpa got to come back from the war, but many of his friends died there and he still cannot talk about it. He stands and honors the flag. It's a special song Trenna. I am sad for all the families who lost people. This song means we love and appreciate them even if we don't know their names. That is what the flag means. Of course, by then I was crying and he said the same thing I say to them  every time I leave them or put them to bed. "I love you today, tomorrow forever and always.

I don't know why the sports players choose to dishonor the symbol that commemorates the fallen soldiers and what they fought for. I have no idea what they are protesting, so if is suppose to move me to support a cause it doesn't. Their disrespect of the flag, the National Anthem, and soldiers that fought for their rights just proves that they are ignorant and disrespectful.

Even a 10 year old boy can figure that out.

Trump Swamp Creature

Dear President Trump,

Typically when you are invited to a rally to support a candidate, you should spend most of your dedicated time talking about the candidate. Being tall is not one of the qualities that help me decide on a vote, does it you? I think you should have learned about Luther Strange and told people why you believe he was the best candidate.

Instead you used this opportunity to share that you had joined the swamp. I didn't find it surprising, but I did find it disappointing. You talked about having to have dinner with people who really loved you and wanted to meet you just to try and get a yes vote. Let's see, that  seems like the very thing you campaigned against. And how do you think those people who had the privilege of dining with you after you told the entire nation how horrible it was. So yes, you've become a swamp creature. Congrats.

Let's Try a Different Approach!

Dear Mr. President,

Today I am trying a different approach. I got up this morning and in my email several of my friends had sent this to me.

THE LEAD STORY: Kim Jong Un may order hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific  ... Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho's comments in South Korea media followed Kim's assertion that President Trump was "deranged" and would "pay dearly" for his threat to destroy the Hermit Kingdom. Previously at the U.N. General Assembly, Trump mocked Kim as a "rocket man" on a "suicide mission," and said that if provoked further, “we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea." On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order targeting North Korea’s trading partners with sanctions, calling it a "powerful” tool for isolating and de-nuclearizing the regime.

This tells me a couple of things. My friends are concerned about the future of the United States and very concerned about war. It "feels" like we are a war with North Korea in a time when our people are reeling in natural disasters. I have to observe that when the going gets tough, you,
President Trump, call people names. (Here we call that a childish bully.)

What does it take to get your attention and a response to my concerns?

Shame on the Cahokia Quarterback Club

Dear President Trump,

Just wanted you to know that I call things as I see them. I don't just pick on you. 

Dear Cahokia Quarterback Club,

I believe you have some big problems to deal with and they need to be addressed NOW. Freedom of speech and the right to disrespect the flag should probably, as a matter of common sense be limited to adults.

Let me give you a copy of where I am getting my information.

"The 8-year-old kids from the Cahokia Quarterback Club football team took a knee as the anthem played before their Sunday, September 17 game, according to Fox Insider.

“One of the kids asked me if I saw [people] protesting and rioting in St. Louis,” Coach Orlando Gooden told the local Fox affiliate. “I said yes. I said, ‘Do you know why they are doing it?'”

The coach added that one of his players replied saying, “Because black people are getting killed and nobody’s going to jail.”

At that point, the coach claimed it was a “good teaching moment” and agreed to let the kids protest the anthem at the game:

“What I teach my kids is love, integrity, honesty, fairness, respect and boundaries,” the coach claimed.

Since the protest, Coach Gooden did note that he has received some blowback from people critical of the protest.

However, Gooden is unrepentant. “As long as I have support of my parents and team, I’m perfectly fine, and I’m covered under the First Amendment to peacefully protest and assemble,” he said.

I see several holes and missing points in the story, so I am not certain how credible it is, but I would love to learn more because it may make me less angry at a Coach, who I assume is spreading hate. "People" get away with shooting people all the time, that is what lawyers get paid to do. The majority of black people that get shot are shot by black people, who according to the premise are not going to jail. Since race was brought it the facts have to shared and black on black crime is a fact. I don't believe people should be shooting each other and getting away with it.

I don't believe showing disrespect for the flag helps these shootings and injustice stop at all. In fact, I believe it creates more hate and crimes. I don't know if the coach check with all the parents to get their consent, but if he did "Shame on the parents as well."  I wish President Trump would call you out.

Can we talk about the word "but" again. It is a very contrary word and alerts the listeners (usually subconsciously at this point) that whatever was said directly before is incorrect or should be dismissed. Read it again and think about it.

Let's look at some phrases.
I love you but
Sure we can go but
We are great friends but

Can you feel that negative vibe?

Check this out

We are great friends and

See, it really doesn't feel the same. The next time you give a speech or notes or tweet maybe you could replace "but" with "and".

I challenge to read this paragraph out loud with both options.

To My Critics

Dear Critics and President Trump,

Thanks for taking the time to tell me I am stupid and uneducated. I rely on something my Mom used to say "consider the source and the knowledge they have".

So a little bit about me. I am the youngest in my family so I am used to being told I am wrong and don't know anything. I am good at shrugging that off.

I don't have to like someone to respect their opinion. Respect is a gift I give freely. I am educated. I am teachable. I am opinionated and my opinions change and grow as I learn more. I believe in dialogue. When I discover I am wrong, I admit it and move forward.

I have a voice because I live in a country where I am "free" to express myself in any peaceful manner I choose, and I must enjoy the consequences because I choose to take the action.

Bring it on. Tell me what you think. Do it respectfully and there will be a dialogue.

Did you celebrate?

Hello,

I have told you many times to make only promises you can keep. I have suggested that you get a pen and a lawyer and make executive that won't be taken down by the courts.

I didn't really mean proclamations and I am not very sure how these proclamations will mean or if anyone really noticed.

At any rate today is Constitution and Citizenship Day and begins Constitution Week. I am not sure it made a difference or has any significance. I know about it and really it didn't inspire me to do anything.

I wonder if anyone noticed.

Poor Decisions

Dear President Trump,

My father was very detailed in the way he raised us. We didn't always meet his expectations, by any means, and yet he made it clear what he wanted done.

When we made a poor decisions, he wanted us to take accountability. We were taught that was a sign of a strong, yet humble leader. He also taught us about impeccable integrity.

I don't believe that you were taught the same things that I was taught. I have never even heard you say "I could have made a better decision." There have been plenty of times that it would have been an appropriate decision. In fact, I have an example or maybe a few.

"Pocahantas" comes to mind. Name calling in general is not a great practice, and the tribal meeting I attended after you used this name in a derogatory manner was somber. I heard the question over and over "Why would he choose to disgrace us?" I had no answer that would suffice.

That would have been an appropriate time to say, "I didn't make the best decision."

Announcing that you thought Comey was the right man for the job, would have been an appropriate time to say "I didn't make the best decision."

I could go on, and yet I am sure some people get the idea. Do you?

Dear President Trump,

It's a somber day. September 11th will never be the same. There are two times in my life when explaining what was happening in the world to the special needs people I work with overwhelms me. This is one of those days.

I got a call this morning from a visually impaired person that I spent the day with when the towers came down. I did my best to help her understand. She is still struggling with the "why".

She asked me a question and perhaps you have the answer. Is hate stronger than love?

Churches and FEMA

This is just a reminder. You don't have to say every thing you might be thinking about out loud. I know people in Texas are hurting and their churches are ruined. God hears prayers from homes and other places. The separation of church and state are there for a reason.

Are you also, to be fair, going to help all the churches who worship Satan, or maybe the new churches of Cannabis? Who has the power to say what a worthy "church" might be?

I don't know that I want my taxes to be used to rebuild churches. I am fine rebuilding peoples life, but you don't need a building to worship. I believe what you said opens a door to a very reckless trip down a slippery slope.

Everyone is talking about the hurricane and the devastation. I can't help but to compare it to our congress and the many issues I see there. They are up to their necks in wreckage that has been created by years of corruption.

You can not allow a body to govern themselves with no checks and balances. The system is broken and under water. Lobbyists pay, representatives do their bidding the average or Americans in poverty suffer.

I don't know why we don't talk about it. I don't know why no one cares. I don't know why you don't do something as President. Did you forget the Americans?

How likely is it that anyone in congress can be pressured into helping anyone? Their only requirement is to get elected. They don't have to show up. They don't have to vote. All they really have to do is get elected.  (Yes I have said this before, but I not sure anyone is listening.)
Change the rules and make our representatives have job and not a welfare program with great benefits.

I don't really know what the holiday is suppose to be about, but in our home town it was always fair time, so that worked for me. Wow, looks like James Comey exonerated Hillary Clinton long before the investigation was over...and so much more. A rigged system!

Here is my point. The evidence that there was "wrong doing" is clear. So either press charges or never speak of it again. It is not fair to keep wagging the tongue and implying wrongdoing if you aren't going to give the person their day in court. It is just gossip if you don't back it up.
