Knee Jerk Recation

Dear President Trump and Frederica Wilson,

I usually try and think things through for a few hours, and yet this time you are getting a knee jerk reaction. It may not be wise and still sometimes we have to step out and call it like we see it.

First of all Frederica Wilson, you don't wear an outfit, you wear a costume. I checked with everyone at the ranch and they all agree. Secondly, if you are proud to say that the death of your friend and the information that followed make you a "Rock Star" - I pray your "friend" finds different friends with integrity. Thirdly, you are not a "Rock Star", at best you are a cartoon character with a bad costume. Wake up and smell the coffee. Come back down to earth and apologize for the embarrassment you brought on.

Passed Budget (first round)

Dear President Trump,

So the budget passed the first round without the help of the Democrats. Is that something to brag about? I am not so certain. It shows that no one is working together. Really there is no incentive for anyone serving to even pass and legislation. Think about it. They get paid for life no matter what they do or don't do. There is no real incentive to  do anything but collect money from lobbyist. Until that changes no one can expect anything else to change.

Not so proud of our system. It requires zero work ethic.

The Budget

President Trump,

The budget needs to be done. It requires working with other people. It includes working with people who really hate you. That seems to be a reoccurring problem.
Perhaps you need an advocate to represent your ideas for you. It seems that even your appearance is disruptive to many representatives. I guess maybe you really do need a front man or woman. It is something you should consider.

We need the budget passed.

I would have to assume that the Keystone Pipeline is a good thing. I don't know why we spend so much of our revenue to make other countries rich.  It seems like investing in our country is the right thing to do.

Now they need to do great work so there are no issues. It is no time to hurry through a project.

Hey Donald,

I believe that all your core, solid supporters just want Hillary Clinton to go away. If you are not going to prosecute her, then please just shut up about her. We don't care. We are done. 

The average American knows that people with power and money don't have to follow the law. They don't have to serve time like the rest of the criminals. Let's stop playing games and take her out of the spotlight please.

Not a TV Program

Dear President Trump,

This is beginning to look like a very long and bad episode of "The Apprentice". Tom Marino has now stepped down as a nominee for a position in your cabinet. I am seriously thinking you might want to run some advertisements in someplace rural, with zero political background, who just wants to make the world a better place and help with the problems of drugs in this country.

You will never drain the swamp if you only ask swamp creatures to work with or for you.

Perhaps there are some smart, decent people that could help you that no one has ever heard of. Maybe you should look a zip recruiter. Maybe you should try someone outside your realm of acquaintances. 

This is totally ridiculous.

Okay I admit it. I am not a fan of your tweets. If you feel that tweeting is so important how about we try just tweeting the good news. I believe Americans are tiring of the mud slinging. There is so much of it now made so public we cannot even watch real news or a weather report without interruption about corruption. So here is the tweet that I would have approved for the day.

Executive Order

Dear President Trump,

Color me surprised again. Here we go with another Executive Order. They look nice, but they hold no power. We all know that the Health Insurance Plan is tied to Congress. Congress can not function at all. 

So we have a defunct health insurance plan. Just say it like it is  and save those Executive Orders for something that has some power.

Dear President Trump,

This was an interesting statement. I think it may be true for some, but certainly not true for all. I would say if people are worshiping the government they are pretty much Satanist. It really has become an evil entity.  It is sad,but true. Sometimes I wonder if it is just time to scrap it and start over.

Does anyone have faith in being repersented by people that run and are elected? I don't.  It is just sad.

Puerto Rico ~ Finances

Sometimes I feel like someone should say what many are thinking. Puerto Rico was in deep financial crisis before the hurricane. We should not ignore their needs, neither should we ignore their issues that have been self created. Somehow we must strike balance. We should not pretend that they were financially responsible and all their issued were caused or should be solved because of a hurricane.

So Confused!

Dear President Trump,

Like every day I am writing to you. What I am finding so confusing is how the NFL is a non-profit. I am sure it must be legal, and still I can not imagine how it could be ethical.

Of course you are must too busy to read letters from people you are suppose to represent, but maybe if one of your staff stumbles across this they can have someone explain it to me. I keep saying I am teachable and people would rather call me horrible names than educate me. Why is that?

So anyway, if anyone can enlighten me on how or why the NFL can be a non profit - please do so.

Controlling Guns

Dear President Trump,

I am wrestling with the way this country seems to be divided and confused over guns and gun control. Like most issues it seems to be rural vs city dwellers. We really live in different "worlds" with different concerns.

At the ranch riding without a gun is inviting a wolf encounter to turn deadly for the rider. Hunters use different guns for different types of hunting and most use the meat to feed their families.

I would think that most people are concerned about gun violence and not particularly gun use. For example, target practicing at a range may be acceptable to more people than murder. 

Let's take a look at some numbers from 2016. It seems that cities have a big problem with gun violence.

Chicago had 480 homicides.
Baltimore had 344 homicides
Detroit listed 333 homicides
Washington DC had 119 homicides

So 1276 people were murdered in cities with tough gun control laws. Something is not working and it is not the same everywhere.

It seems to me that any time a homicidal murderer uses a gun, we worry more about the weapon than what made this person a homicidal murderer.

I, in no way, support murder of any kind.

So instead of just making sweeping statements about gun control, can we talk about ways to end gun violence? There is room in that conversation to speak about gun laws and so much more. We can't solve just part of the problem. Criminals will always be able to get guns, no matter what the laws. What can we do to stop the violence?

Yup, I am still here. No, I am not going away. Someone, or maybe everyone should be heard and unafraid to offer an opinion. At least that is one of the freedoms I was taught to believe in.

This is just totally false. Anyone who held the same position as you could have done the same this. This tweet helped no one. It is like a 5 year child bragging about what they did. You are becoming further and further detached from reality. Perhaps you and Nancy Polosi have some of the same struggles. You are so egotistical that you've lost touch with reality. It shouldn't be all about you. It should be all about the people who put you there.

You are not deity. Please stop pretending like you are.

 

No News Day

Dear President Trump,

I have declared this no news day in my home. I am so tired of the tweets, the drama, the weather and the string of bad news that I am taking the day off.

I unplugged the televisions. After work we are going out to enjoy the weather, even if it is snowing. I just don't want to hear it anymore.

Maybe tomorrow I will feel different.

Invisible Americans

President Trump and To Whom it May Concern,

It is personally a very somber day for me. I have much on my mind. I have spoken a lot about the forgotten Americans and today I realize there more invisible Americans than those forgotten and they all have a story and value and need to be "visible" to someone.

On the rare occasion when someone sincerely reaches out to me and explains that what I am doing is a waste of time. I say to them. If just one person who reads this and understands the disconnect and does something for one invisible person, it will be worth it. If someday, my grandchildren stumble upon this and understood I tried. It will be worth it. I do this every single day when it is clear that no stranger cares about me, my thoughts or my  opinions. I have no value you to them. I cannot give them anything. I am invisible and worthless to them. Thankfully, in my case, there are many who know me, see me, and appreciate my heart. That may be my saving grace.

If I were a billionaire I could pay of the spotlight and get my thoughts out. If I were a billionaire I could help many invisible people reach their potential.  If I were a billionaire one of my representatives might actually care what I think, if only to get that all mighty dollar.

I have one tool to help people understand, my words. So I share my words.

Things are not always black and white. There is a lot of gray in the world and when we try to make it black and white, value is lost.

The bump stock was designed to help disabled people be able to shoot. It is important to remember the reason for it. This is not to say it should still be allowed, and it is important to understand why it was created and allowed. So Geraldo Rivera, remember to mention that when you are speaking about this issue.

Nancy Pelosi made her statement about the slipper slope. I really hope that she goes down a slippery slope that takes her home and out of leadership. She used to be able to bring in huge donations, but according to Hillary Clinton, she is not good at that anymore. So Nancy, go home to your Sanctuary State and live in peace, not really knowing who the President is and who you might be praying for.

About Hillary Clinton, I think she may have said something of value. I am not sure it will have any impact, and still I am glad to see it.

“The vast majority of Americans and the vast majority of gun owners know we need common sense gun safety measures," she continued.

One whole political party has not sold out. Until the laws on the books are actually enforced no one know how the legislation should be written. Demonizing the NRA gives them more power (Democrats ~ read that and again and think before you speak if you don't want thousands more of people who have guns to give them money.)

Oh my goodness, another day another drama. President Trump your tease at the end of the meeting last night was reckless. Please set your ego aside and quietly do what needs to be done. We don't need another reality show. We need a President. Let your actions speak for you and be quiet.

Sure call me invisible, poor, whatever and still you may find that often I am spot on.

 

My Heart Hurts

I guess I am having a hard time understanding leaders. It would seem like people with money, power and a platform would like to bring people together, but the evidence proves otherwise. Take a look at this little piece of news.

"Obama made her observation at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women earlier this week. "On one side of the room, it's literally gray and white. Literally, that's the color palette on one side of the room," she said. "On the other side of the room, there are yellows and blues and whites and greens. Physically, there’s a difference in color, in the tone. Because one side: all men, all white. On the other side: some women, some people of color."

Overwhelming

I am tired. I am exhausted. I am overwhelmed. I am in a world full of chaos and I see no options. Pain, hopelessness, hurricanes, Las Vegas, ambush, childish tweets,emanate war, and watching my brother die a slow and painful death because his insurance denied the very tests we need to help him.

I am not even angry any more. I have run out of hope. I am numb. What's the point? Everyday I write. Everyday I go to work. Every day I try, but why?

Creating Chaos

I have thought long and hard about how people seem to cling to the need to be surrounded with chaos. In Salt Lake City there is a man who hangs a manikin as a Halloween decoration. The neighbors do not like it and he is breaking no laws. Every year there is a fight. It is chaos and both parties play.

This is like you and Democrats, you and the mayor, you and almost anyone that deals with you. It probably works well for you in our business dealings. It is not setting well with many.

Perhaps this is something to think about.

I know I could get some serious flack, and yet I feel like I must take a stand.

I see absolutely no justification for any more gun control laws. People who murder people with guns are criminals. If they are capable of murder, they do not mind breaking the law. If the gun is not handy there are a plethora of other options.

So bring it on. Convince me with actual proof that ONE single life could be saved with MORE gun control laws.

The fact is that you cannot provide the proof.

Dear President Trump,

Last night I went to bed early, read a book and called it a night. Today I woke up to news that was not pleasant. I take the time as I always do to check the information from several sources. I said a prayer for the survivors and their families. They have much pain and suffering to deal with.

Then my thoughts went to the shooter. I am not terribly concerned about how they label the man. Murderer, terrorist, white, all seem to be accurate. My husband and I are polar opposites on many issues, and he asked me an interesting question. "If were murdered in something like this would you care what race the shooter was?"

My immediate answer was "hell no". I would simply be devastated and feel hopeless in the beginning. I wouldn't even be angry yet. I would be numb.

Then he said "Why are people saying he is not Muslim?" I don't know why they would say that. At this point I don't really know that his religion has been discussed. Are people so uneducated they believe that "Muslim" is a race?
